Letting go of Mission Geographic
The past few weeks have been full of what I can only call spiritual warfare.
These are the only words I can think of to describe what has been happening.
As I have been working on Mission Geographic I have felt like I am running
up hill. It has just been a struggle to work on the site. As I have been
working on the site this week I have felt extreme emotions of depression,
bitterness, temptation and many distractions.
The
foundation of the site was finished well over a month ago, but it has
been my desire to make the presentation perfect and shiny. This week while
I was at a 4 Square Leadership Conference I felt like God was saying to
let Mission Geographic go. God was asking me to surrender all of my hard
work to Him. He also reminded me that this was His idea and not mine.
So, I am listening and letting it go today. I am convicted because I know
I should have let it go weeks ago.
What
do I mean "let go"?
I have been guilty of trying to build Mission Geographic myself, to try
and make a grand presentation. God is reminding me that this is not my
role in Mission Geographic. My role to serve as an advocate of missionaries
to help their ministries be heard. My role is to help other people to
build this site and to supervise, not to build it myself. What a relief
it is to know that I don't have to perform for God. I am just privileged
to be a part of His plan.
Mission
Geographic is for you
Mission Geographic is now online. It is not perfect. There will be no
parades or parties to celebrate it's completion. Many sections are empty
and and I feel like that is just the way God wants it. I pray that Mission
Geographic will never be complete, that it will always be full of new
stories and new testimonies. The foundation is done and now it is completely
open for churches, missionaries and ministries to come and build it.
Do
you know a missionary that needs more support?
Send us their stories, send us pictures, send us as much information as
you can. The database is not yet complete so I will be adding information
by hand for now. Eventually missionaries will be able to easily control
their own sections. For now just e-mail information and I will post it.
I am working on a conversation board that will make this easier.
Do
you have a ministry that needs more support?
Send us your information, send us pictures, send us video, send as much
information as you can.

(there
may be no parades, but I don't think God will mind the extra bold font).
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Love,
David
